Navigating the Application

Once you are signed in, Staff Compliance Manager has a simple layout with three main areas: the sidebar on the left, the top bar across the top, and the main content area in the center. This page explains what you will find in each area.

The top bar runs along the top of every page. It shows:

  • Your organization’s name on the left, so you always know which account you are working in.
  • Your role badge (for example, “Admin”), which tells you what level of access you have.
  • Your display name on the right, so you can confirm you are signed in to the correct account.

The sidebar is the tall panel on the left side of the screen. It contains links to every section of the application. Clicking a link opens that section in the main content area.

Here is what each item in the sidebar is for:

Your home page. The Dashboard gives you a quick summary of what is happening across your organization — how many requirements are active, how many staff members have completed their assignments, and anything that may need your attention.

This is where you create and manage the policies, procedures, or other documents that your staff need to read and acknowledge. Each requirement can have a title, description, and attached files.

A list of all the people in your organization who receive assignments. You can add new recipients, update their information, or remove someone who has left.

Groups let you organize recipients into teams, departments, or any other grouping that makes sense for your organization. For example, you might have a group called “Public Works” or “Finance Department”. When you create an assignment, you can send it to an entire group at once instead of selecting people one by one.

Assignments connect requirements to recipients. When you create an assignment, you are telling a person (or group of people) that they need to review and acknowledge a specific requirement. This section shows all active and past assignments along with their status.

A read-only record of important actions taken in the system. The Audit Log tracks who did what and when — for example, when a requirement was created, when an assignment was sent out, or when a recipient completed their acknowledgement. This is especially useful for compliance reporting and accountability.

The Settings page lets you manage your organization’s account details and preferences. This is also where you can update your own profile information.

The large area in the center of the screen displays the page you have selected from the sidebar. For example, if you click Requirements in the sidebar, the main content area will show your list of requirements. If you click Dashboard, it will show your summary view.

Everything you do in Staff Compliance Manager — creating requirements, assigning them, reviewing the audit log — happens in this main content area.

To move between sections, simply click the item you want in the sidebar. The main content area will update to show the new page. You can also use your browser’s back and forward buttons to return to pages you have visited recently.
